Our vocational dept. focuses on our HBS & TNT Relatives. Vocational provides many different crafts that allow our Relatives to use their talent's in making paintings, bead work, leather work, pow wow costume ornaments, breast plates, chokers, shields, moccasins, bogards, leggings, painting on pottery, painting cups, bowls and different statue's.
Relatives clean the green ware and carve designs, and finally they paint them. After painting is complete they are taken to the NM pottery for firing. Any ceramics that will be used by any person has to be fired before use. Each Relative is allowed 2 projects, they will take one home with them and the other will be donated to NCI. One item is given to Relative upon completion of the program. If you are interested in any pieces that you see displayed please ext. 105.
