Protective Custody
Shelter
HBS and TNT (Native American Traditional Teachings)
1st Step (Western Teachings)
We offer residential treatment for our programs First Step, Hinn ah Bits os Society (HBS or Eagle Plume Society)/ Ts aa bee na nitin (Traditional Navajo Teachings) or just HBS/TNT and Protective Custody.

Protective Custody is when our Relatives are brought to NCI so that they don't harm themselves or others when they are intoxicated.  The shelter program is run by our 1st step program and follows its own guidelines that help our Relatives become responsible sober individuals.  The 1st Step program teaches Western Therapy to help individuals become sober.

Our HBS/TNT traditional program promotes both Navajo and Inter-Tribal philosophies and values.  Our goal is to promote healthy behavior through the clanship system Ke) and the Beauty Way Philosophy.  In keeping with the Dine tradition, both Hinn ah Bits so Society (Eagle Plume Society) Traditional Navajo Teaching participants and staff all relate to each other as "Relatives".

For more information on our programs, please visit our HBS/TNT page.
Our counselor's can give you information on our programs specific to
their departments.
