
Jay Azua, Program Manager III
On July 31, 2009, the NCI Board of Directors
officially and by unanimous vote approved Mr. John "Jay" Azua to
assume the newly created position of Program Manager III to oversee and manage
all programmatic functions of NCI. The responsibilities of the position
will be the oversight of the day to day operations of the Center and fulfilling
Board of Director's objectives and expectations.
Mr. Azua previously worked for the McKinley
County's DWI Program specifically the Drug Court Program, held various related
positions and is well acquainted i the field of Substance Abuse treatment.
Mr. Azua has over 25 years of directly related experience and is LADAC
credentialed through the State of New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice
Board.
Acting as Interim Executive Director for the last
seven (7) months produced concrete improvements which include: (1) successfully
dissolving the two Arizona programs. (2) NCI staff preparing for CARF
recertification, reviewing policies, procedures, and making necessary
improvements to the facility. (3) Computer tracking database and
surveillance camera systems are in progress to allow for a better continuum of
client care and staff safety. (4) Financial audit for 2008 has been
completed on time to gaining confidence based on sound financials.
After several special meetings of the Board
drawing upon the individual expertise of members we have been able to move into
a mode of strategic planning and thus many positive changes and accomplishments
have been made in a short period of time. Na'Nizhoozhi Center, Inc. and
the Board of Directors welcome Mr. Azua to the NCI TEAM in providing services
and the continuum of care to our Relatives from all walks of life.
