The Maintenance Department does a number of things around the facility.  They clean all of the public areas and administrative areas, and also do the laundry for clients and relatives.  Maintenance does plumbing repairs (which consists of cleaning out drain lines, sewer lines, repair sinks, shower heads, and faucets).  Maintenance also does  electrical repairs such as:  replacing electrical outlets, outlet covers, light switches, etc. Maintenance maintains to upkeep the outside grounds, replace locks on doors within the facility. Maintenance is required to do fire drills once a month and check fire extinguishers on a monthly basis. 

Some of the accomplishments that were made are:

* Replaced the fire exit in the women's clinical area

* Has yearly fire inspection with Gallup Fire Marshall

* Replaced ceiling tiles throughout the facility

* Replaced all burnt out light bulbs on the fire exits

The Maintenance Department is required to keep everything in the facility up to date and running. They must make inspections monthly or maybe even more often than once a month. Maintenance recently improved the look of the HBS grounds in the back of the facility. Maintenance makes sure to clean and sanitize the facility during the mornings and in the evenings.
