Ray Daw is a member of the Navajo Nation, bilingual in Navajo and English.  As Executive Director of NCI, he manages a 150-bed voluntary/involuntary residential program that provides behavioral health outpatient, residential, prevention, and technical assistance to Gallup, McKinley County, the Navajo Nation, and various tribal communities in Arizona and New Mexico.  As one of the largest providers of behavioral health services in Indian country, NCI has been a provider of technical assistance to non-Native American communities and tribes across the country working towards reduction of substance abuse-related problems through environmental prevention and treatment systems design.  NCI is a model and innovative program, that is included in the Clinical Trials Network with the National Institute of Drug Abuse, through the University of New Mexico. He has participated in development of community-based prevention models for Native Americans, evaluation standards for Indian behavioral health programs that includes use of social indicators.
